Workshops

We lead participatory workshops and walks that fuse teaching songs, knowledge and folklore about trees and plants at community land projects, festivals, forest schools and more.

Our workshops are tailored to the flora of the site, and are inclusive spaces of creative sharing and participation.

Shorter workshops will typically involve teaching a few songs about specific trees in the area, as well as led and open discussion and knowledge-sharing about each tree. We often also like to invite participants to share any songs that they might know about trees or plants.

We also offer full day workshops, where on top of the above we can lead other creative activities including crafts, visual art, and collaborative options such as foraging walks, storytelling etc.

We are open to collaborative workshops of all kinds – take a look at our collaborations page for past and upcoming collaborators, and for more information about proposing a collaboration.

Pricing Guidelines

If considering booking the Hedgesong Collective at your event, please take a look at the pricing guidelines below. A great deal of work is put into planning a tailored workshop including song research and arrangement, place research, handout design and printing and admin. We understand that not all organisations benefit from funding, and that low income groups may most benefit from a workshop, and so we operate on a sliding scale.

1-2 Hour Workshop – Full Fee £350 + Travel – Reduced Fee £200 + Travel

Full day Workshop – Full Fee £650 + Travel – Reduced Fee £500 + Travel

Travel expenses can be estimated from Brecon and Exeter.

You may alternatively invite Hedgesong to host an event which will be ticketed. Usually in this circumstance we will require a deposit to cover travel expenses and a baseline payment. This can then be deducted from the overall ticket sales. In this circumstance we will require 2/3rds of the above pricing options + travel as an agreed minimum final payment.

For all workshop bookings a £100 deposit is required for a booking to be accepted. The final amount must be paid within two weeks of the workshop delivery date.

Please get in touch through our Contact page for a discussion about bookings – what ever the situation, we are happy to have a chat about options.
